Global Resonances. Rethinking a Collection

A special exhibition by the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, supported by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes as part of the Global Museum initiative

Global Resonances. Rethinking a Collection is an ambitious inquiry into the collection of the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and its predominantly Western focus. A many-voiced collaboration of internal and external curators, it focusses on moments of transnational artistic exchange and interwoven transcultural ties throughout the 20th century.

Global Resonances will encompass the whole exhibition space of the Hamburger Bahnhof, taking works from the collection, complemented by loans from collections in Berlin and worldwide, as points of departure to explore veiled narratives and open new perspectives on its holdings and history.
