Kreativ Villa: Beating Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with Art

Kreativ Villa is an effort started by Sylke Bach in December 2016 as a crowdfunding campaign on Startnext. The idea is to setup an association and provide a place where people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can participate in painting and pottery workshops. Painting therapy has been proven as very effective for patients of MS and can stimulate not only their creative side but can also have positive effects on their daily life. It improves, among other things, a better perception of the body and feelings, increase of concentration and training of the fine motor skills. The project also provides opportunities to MS patients to express themselves in the form of art.

Sylke Bach herself has been affected by MS since 2012 and as a painter and photographer she understood how much her creativity helped her fight the negative effects of disease. She started a personal website, BachBilder.de, to share her work with others and after so many positive responses she got an idea to create a non-profit association as a social, creative project for Berlin and Brandenburg.

What Is MS?

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Activities such as painting, poetry and other social interactions can significantly slow down the progression of symptoms.

The Kreativ Villa Campaign

Kreativ Villa campaign on Startnext still needs a lot of support - through your network, your friends and family. You can participate and share on social media. After acquiring the funds Kreativ Villa will function as a registered association (e.V.) and will start to offer art exhibitions and seminars alongside the painting and poetry sessions.
